Frequently Asked Questions
What is cold process (CP) soap?
Cold process soap is made by combining oils and sodium hydroxide lye, which causes a chemical reaction called saponification. Saponification uses the heat generated from the combination of the fatty acids (acidic ingredients), in the melted oils and butters, with sodium hydroxide (base or alkaline ingredients) to facilitate the saponification process, which takes 18–24 h to complete. Once saponification is complete there is no lye in the finished soap.

No one here at Bumble & Honey is a medical or healthcare professional and we do not claim that the use of our products may have a positive effect on pre-existing physical and/or mental health conditions. Do you use palm oil in your products?
We are proud to say that we do NOT use any palm oil in our products. The massive negative environmental impact that palm oil manufacturing has is devastating. According to the World Wildlife Fund, “large areas of tropical forests and other ecosystems with high conservation values have been cleared to make room for vast monoculture oil palm plantations. This clearing has destroyed critical habitat for many endangered species—including rhinos, elephants and tigers.”
